Hello

My name is Michael. I’m currently 28 years old and have been working in law enforcement for five years. I’m recently married, have a dog and cat, and have been playing guitar for over 15 years. I first started taking music lessons when I was eight years old, originally for the drums. I then played percussion throughout middle school and high school. I also played the flute, French horn, and trumpet in jazz and symphonic band. Outside of band, I have taken private lessons for the guitar, voice, piano, ukulele, and banjo to continue my musical education after graduation.

While I have enjoyed learning to play several different instruments, the guitar has always been a constant since I first picked it up. I think that’s because, at least in my opinion, the guitar is the most rewarding instrument to learn. I feel that way because of the versatility it offers. It can be used as a songwriting tool to compose original melodies and chord structures, it can be used as an accompanying instrument to sing your favorite songs over, and it can also be used to play more complicated lead riffs that make songs instantly recognizable. It seems impossible to get bored with the guitar because, even for the most talented players, there’s always something new to learn or perfect. The excitement of mastering a new song on the guitar has never grown old for me, even after all the years I’ve been playing. I aspire to provide my students with the same level of enjoyment and fulfillment by helping them become proficient at the guitar one song at a time.
